When an incident submitted via the Incident Editor includes an assault on an officer from an agency other than the reporting agency, this information is provided via the LEOKA ORI Other Jurisdiction field. In the most common circumstance where the officer assaulted was from the reporting ORI, there is no need to enter anything in the field.

The next most common circumstance would be that a neighboring agency's officer was involved, so a drop-down list of ORIs is provided for the reporting state. When this is what happened, simply select the appropriate ORI for the relevant agency from the list.

However, some incidents may require entry for out of state ORIs. These must be entered manually, and there is no validation provided because the cost of maintaining an accurate national list of ORIs for what is essentially a rare occurence is very high.
